Welcome to your Assistive Technology Training (July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2027)

We can award you 6 hours of PD Credit for this course provided that you complete the course and contact Ron..

This course introduces key tools that support diverse learning needs, with a focus on Read&Write and OrbitNote for working with PDFs. You'll explore how these tools enhance reading, writing, comprehension, and study skills, learn how to make documents accessible using OCR, and get practical tips for using Read&Write for Windows during exams.
Since staff aren’t always able to attend professional development sessions scheduled on Ped Days, this flexible, self-paced course lets you settle in and explore the material whenever it fits your schedule. Our goal is to make learning more accessible, engaging, and convenient for you.

In this session, attendees will be introduced to the Alloprof platform, a free partner in the Quebec education ecosystem, designed to empower students through trusted academic support, fully in line with the Quebec Education Program. This presentation will demonstrate how educators can integrate these resources to provide continual support both inside and outside the classroom. By providing educators with practical strategies for differentiated instruction and student motivation, we can work together to ensure no student feels "stuck". Together, let's foster a world where every learner has the tools to succeed.

In this workshop participants will learn how to code a simple physical computing setup on a Raspberry Pi using motors, lights, etc. and python programming language.  It will be an opportunity to have a hands-on experience with the equipment and practice a coding exercise which you could then adapt or use on your equipment back at your school.

This workshop will be aimed at beginners and teachers who may be interested in this topic but may not know how to get started or how to incorporate physical computing using a Raspberry Pi computer.

This presentation will demonstrate how educators can integrate these resources to provide continual support both inside and outside the classroom. By providing educators with practical strategies for differentiated instruction and student motivation, we can work together to ensure no student feels "stuck". In this workshop participants will learn how to code a simple physical computing setup on a Raspberry Pi using motors, lights, etc. and python programming language.  It will be an opportunity to have a hands-on experience with the equipment and practice a coding exercise which you could then adapt or use on your equipment back at your school.

This workshop will be aimed at beginners and teachers who may be interested in this topic but may not know how to get started or how to incorporate physical computing using a Raspberry Pi computer.

Welcome back for our second and final CLP Meetup! This session is entirely co-designed by you, with our agenda driven directly by your feedback, questions, and hands-on experiences from our first meetup. Together, we will showcase the resources, custom Gems, and Vibe Coded mini-apps we've tested in our schools, tackle real-world rollout challenges, and collaborate on a practical playbook to support our colleagues with Canva and AI. Bring your laptop, your honest reflections, and a classroom remix you’ve tried as we pave a supportive path forward for our school communities!

🎪 Proposed Showcase Stations (The CLP "Science Fair")To bring our sharing to life, we can set up the room with these five interactive, hands-on stations where CLPs can rotate, test each other's creations, and gather ideas:
Station 1: The Canva Design Playground
  • The Vibe: Creative, visual, and highly practical.
  • What's Here: A display of the actual classroom flyers, templates, and presentation slide-decks CLPs created using Canva AI 2.0.
  • Key Takeaway: Real-world examples of how Canva AI saved teachers hours of planning and design time.
Station 2: The Custom "Gems" Lab
  • The Vibe: Collaborative, customized, and smart.
  • What's Here: Devices loaded up with custom-built Gemini Gems. Visitors can interact with these personalized AI teaching assistants (e.g., feedback coaches, specialized co-planners, or interactive role-playing bots).
  • Key Takeaway: See how easy it is to clone specialized teaching expertise into a reusable AI helper.
Station 3: The NotebookLM Audio & Resource Hub
