The Target Before the Task: Designing Learning Goals
New teachers are often juggling curriculum expectations, classroom routines, student needs, and assessment demands all at once. Clear learning targets can make that work more manageable by helping teachers identify the purpose of a lesson, choose appropriate tasks, provide focused feedback, and help students understand what they are learning and why. In this session, participants will practice turning curriculum expectations into clear, student-friendly learning targets and consider how those targets can support planning, instruction, and assessment
