Incorporating regular outdoor learning opportunities into the curriculum can alleviate stress, encourage a more positive mindset, and promote writing.Let`s explore simple, practical activities that take students outdoors to engage with their environment through place-based learning. These activities are designed to promote curiosity, mindfulness, and writing through meaningful connections with nature, benefiting both students and educators.Through intentional exploration, observation, and journaling, students will learn how to document their discoveries, reflect on their experiences, and engage in thoughtful discussions. Nature-inspired journaling sessions will help students capture details and insights for writing, while building calmness and emotional resilience.

Student behaviours and lagging academic gains can sometimes be difficult to understand and may interfere with learning and classroom functioning. This workshop explores lesson design through a neuroscience-informed lens, helping educators understand Executive Function Skills and their role in learning, behaviour, and self-regulation. Participants will learn practical, evidence-based lesson design strategies that foster executive function development, increase student engagement, strengthen self-regulation, and support more inclusive and responsive learning environments.

Truth and Reconciliation is a journey that invites educators to move beyond awareness toward actions that foster a sense of mattering for Indigenous learners. This workshop offers practical pathways for creating culturally safe and welcoming spaces where students feel seen, valued, and essential. Grounded in a four-part Moodle professional learning course, the session explores strategies such as learning about the Indigenous nation(s) on whose territory we work, understanding historic and current Indigenous experiences in education, and developing an action plan for meaningful change. Participants will leave with concrete steps for their own professional journey towards reconciliation, which will impact their classrooms and school communities.

In an evolving educational landscape, educational goals remain constant: developing a world where each student takes charge of their learning with confidence. In this session, attendees will be introduced to the Alloprof platform, a free partner in the Quebec education ecosystem, designed to empower students through trusted academic support, fully in line with the Quebec Education Program. This presentation will demonstrate how educators can integrate these resources to provide continual support both inside and outside the classroom. By providing educators with practical strategies for differentiated instruction and student motivation, we can work together to ensure no student feels "stuck". Together, let's foster a world where every learner has the tools to succeed.

Integrating choice boards into your teaching practice is a powerful way to boost student engagement, voice, and ownership and can be used across all subject areas from elementary through high school. In this workshop, participants will explore how to design meaningful choice boards that support diverse learners through Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and effective differentiated instruction.

We will look at practical ways to structure choice so it remains purposeful and manageable while still offering flexibility and student autonomy. We will also briefly explore how AI can support planning by helping generate ideas, templates, and differentiation options more efficiently.

Applicable to all levels of teaching and subjects, action research is a dynamic and motivating cyclical process with the teacher being the researcher-participant in their own classroom. Target goals for the action plan could include but are not limited to: planning, implementation or evaluation, behaviour issues, or teaching strategies. Action research can help you identify a challenge or determine a change you want for your classroom and guide your process to address it.

• learn how to use reflection and the cycles of inquiry to plan for action research in your own classroom or school communities.
• learn how action research can empower you by informing your day-to-day decisions to make intentional shifts in your teaching.

Join your School Board Librarian for an exploration of the diverse physical and digital resources available to support your classroom instruction. This session is designed to broaden your pedagogical toolkit by highlighting a wide range of high-quality resources in both English and French, for every level from Kindergarten to Grade 11. After a brief introduction to your school library and showing you how to access their collection online, I'll introduce you to a number of quality book and video resources available online for educators, such as ACF/Criterion, Biblius, Curio, NFB and more.
