This workshop explores how early spatial skills in 4-6 year-olds are a stronger predictor of later math success than number recognition. Educators will learn to design dynamic classrooms using loose parts, creative materials and invitations to play to bridge the gap between physical play and abstract math. Canva is more than a design tool — it can become a complete classroom workflow system that saves teachers time, improves organization, and creates a more cohesive learning experience for students. In this hands-on session, participants will explore practical ways to use Canva for real classroom teaching, beyond isolated worksheets or decorative materials.“Canva for Real Classrooms” demonstrates how printed student workbooks, classroom presentations, daily agendas, instructional slides, and activities can be streamlined into one connected visual system. Participants will learn how consistent layouts, visual cues, icons, color palettes, and reusable templates can reduce student confusion while making lesson preparation faster and more efficient.The session begins with examples from real classroom implementation and ideas inspired by the Canva Create 2026 conference. Participants will then engage in guided creation time, building components of a mini-unit in Canva, including a student activity page and matching presentation slides using reusable design elements and classroom-friendly visual strategies.During independent creation time, teachers will adapt these techniques to their own subjects and grade levels. Participants will leave with practical Canva skills, reusable workflows, time-saving strategies, and free classroom-ready templates they can immediately use in their own teaching.

Cet atelier de 75 minutes s’adresse aux enseignants de FLS au secondaire confrontés à une hétérogénéité croissante des profils d’élèves, à des défis marqués en littératie ainsi qu’à une baisse de motivation et d’engagement. Nous explorerons des stratégies pédagogiques concrètes pour favoriser l’acquisition et la rétention du vocabulaire par des mises en situation signifiantes pour renforcer la motivation des élèves.

Tout au long de cet atelier, des exemples concrets illustreront comment l’intelligence artificielle peut aider l’enseignant à adapter les textes, les tâches et les appuis linguistiques, tout en respectant la progression des apprentissages et les exigences du secondaire. Incorporating regular outdoor learning opportunities into the curriculum can alleviate stress, encourage a more positive mindset, and promote writing.Let`s explore simple, practical activities that take students outdoors to engage with their environment through place-based learning. These activities are designed to promote curiosity, mindfulness, and writing through meaningful connections with nature, benefiting both students and educators.Through intentional exploration, observation, and journaling, students will learn how to document their discoveries, reflect on their experiences, and engage in thoughtful discussions. Rich tasks can deepen student understanding, promote critical thinking, and encourage meaningful engagement without sacrificing rigour. In this hands-on workshop, teachers will explore classroom-ready examples that help students reason, justify, and reflect on their learning. We’ll look at how rich tasks can be used in everyday instruction, as well as how tasks that develop the C1 competency can help students prepare for summative C2 assessments. Participants will also have time to work directly with selected examples and consider how they could be adapted for their own classrooms. We’ll also explore practical strategies for creating rich tasks using existing materials, helping reduce prep time without compromising quality. Whether you’re new to rich tasks or looking to expand your toolkit, this session offers concrete steps for making critical thinking a natural part of your math classroom.
