Engaging students using physical computing and python programming
Monday September 21, 2026 9:00am - 10:15am EDT
In this workshop participants will learn how to code a simple physical computing setup on a Raspberry Pi using motors, lights, etc. and python programming language.  It will be an opportunity to have a hands-on experience with the equipment and practice a coding exercise which you could then adapt or use on your equipment back at your school.

This workshop will be aimed at beginners and teachers who may be interested in this topic but may not know how to get started or how to incorporate physical computing using a Raspberry Pi computer.

Ignite a passion for space science with the Cosmodome
Monday September 21, 2026 9:00am - 10:15am EDT
After a brief introduction to the Cosmodôme, we’ll outline the resources we make available to your teachers. We will introduce you to the educational resources available on our website, our “Gravitation” educational kits, funding opportunities for your field trip through the Cosmodôme Foundation (for schools in disadvantaged communities), the discount available to teachers, and the annual information session for teachers, in collaboration with the Musée de la santé Armand-Frappier. We’ll conclude with a presentation of our educational programs and a question-and-answer session.
