This workshop explores how early spatial skills in 4-6 year-olds are a stronger predictor of later math success than number recognition. Educators will learn to design dynamic classrooms using loose parts, creative materials and invitations to play to bridge the gap between physical play and abstract math. Through observation, teachers can easily translate everyday play into rich, evidence-based data.

Cet atelier de 75 minutes s’adresse aux enseignants de FLS au secondaire confrontés à une hétérogénéité croissante des profils d’élèves, à des défis marqués en littératie ainsi qu’à une baisse de motivation et d’engagement. Nous explorerons des stratégies pédagogiques concrètes pour favoriser l’acquisition et la rétention du vocabulaire par des mises en situation signifiantes pour renforcer la motivation des élèves.

Tout au long de cet atelier, des exemples concrets illustreront comment l’intelligence artificielle peut aider l’enseignant à adapter les textes, les tâches et les appuis linguistiques, tout en respectant la progression des apprentissages et les exigences du secondaire. Les balises sur les usages pertinents de l’IA et sur ses limites en contexte scolaire seront aussi présentées.

Comment soutenir l’autonomie des élèves en français langue seconde dans des classes aux besoins variés ? Cette formation proposera des stratégies, des ressources et des exemples concrets pour rendre les apprentissages plus accessibles et favoriser l’engagement de tous les élèves.

Lors de cet atelier sans prétention, je vais vous montrer la méthode de travail et d'organisation que j'utilise pour créer des activités pédagogiques, autant en lecture, qu'en écriture et en interaction orale, avec la littérature jeunesse. À la fin de l'atelier, j'aimerais qu'on réserve du temps pour créer des leçons ensemble, avec un gabarit qui préconise l'enseignement explicite.  Apportez vos albums de littérature jeunesse préférés si vous le désirez!

These activities are designed to promote curiosity, mindfulness, and writing through meaningful connections with nature, benefiting both students and educators.Through intentional exploration, observation, and journaling, students will learn how to document their discoveries, reflect on their experiences, and engage in thoughtful discussions. This workshop focuses on strengthening Tier 1 math instruction by integrating 6 teaching Recommendations outlined in the What Works Clearing House Practice Guide 26 (2021), with an emphasis on the development of a key elementary concept across cycles. Participants will learn practical, evidence-based strategies for explicitly teaching mathematics.

Rich tasks can deepen student understanding, promote critical thinking, and encourage meaningful engagement without sacrificing rigour. In this hands-on workshop, teachers will explore classroom-ready examples that help students reason, justify, and reflect on their learning. We’ll look at how rich tasks can be used in everyday instruction, as well as how tasks that develop the C1 competency can help students prepare for summative C2 assessments. Participants will also have time to work directly with selected examples and consider how they could be adapted for their own classrooms. We’ll also explore practical strategies for creating rich tasks using existing materials, helping reduce prep time without compromising quality. Whether you’re new to rich tasks or looking to expand your toolkit, this session offers concrete steps for making critical thinking a natural part of your math classroom.

In this workshop participants will learn how to code a simple physical computing setup on a Raspberry Pi using motors, lights, etc. and python programming language.  It will be an opportunity to have a hands-on experience with the equipment and practice a coding exercise which you could then adapt or use on your equipment back at your school.

This workshop will be aimed at beginners and teachers who may be interested in this topic but may not know how to get started or how to incorporate physical computing using a Raspberry Pi computer.

From Reports to Action: Differentiation That Drives Results for Diverse Learners is designed to help teachers confidently turn professional report recommendations into practical classroom strategies that truly support student success. This session will explore how to better understand student learning profiles, recognize how students learn best, and apply accommodations and differentiation in meaningful, manageable ways. Using real-life classroom scenarios and connections to UDL, RTI, and MTSS frameworks, participants will explore inclusive strategies that support engagement, accessibility, and achievement for diverse learners. Teachers will leave with practical tools, ideas, and approaches they can immediately apply to instruction, assessment, and classroom supports to create responsive learning environments where all students can thrive.
