About me
James Gore is the secondary mathematics pedagogical consultant for the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board. Before moving into this role, he taught mathematics in several schools across the board and worked with students, teachers, and communities in a variety of contexts. He is also the coordinator of the board’s summer school and previously served as the principal of Mountainview High School. In his work as a consultant, James supports teachers in designing meaningful mathematics learning and assessment experiences. He has contributed to major projects such as creating new study guides, developing situational problems, and adapting older assessment materials into rich classroom tasks. James has also been part of several assessment-creation committees, including end-of-year provincial C1 and C2 exams and original materials developed during the height of the pandemic. When he is not thinking up math tasks in his spare time, James loves to run, write, and play Wingspan.
