This professional development session provides an overview of foundational remedial and intervention teaching practices for teachers new to the role. The content addresses initial roles and responsibilities, strategies for collaborating with classroom teachers, and methods for establishing an intervention workspace. It aims to explain how to analyze universal screening data to form student groups. Additionally, the session covers the core frameworks of Multi-Tiered System of Supports and Response to Intervention, focusing on progress monitoring and data tracking for Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions. New teachers will also review common learning profiles as well as the integration of assistive technology tools designed to support diverse learners.
